She was able to read the weeks when I could be challenged and supportively pushed and take a step back on the weeks when I just needed a good cry! I feel I can be honest during my sessions, when historically during therapy I have slipped into masking or people pleasing tendencies. “I recently had a session with Dr Sidra Chaudhry and found the experience genuinely supportive and grounding. I came into the session feeling mentally overwhelmed due to prolonged uncertainty around a complex legal matter that has been ongoing for over a month with no clear progress. The sense of “being stuck” and waiting without movement had started to weigh heavily on me. I also discussed a distressing incident involving being attacked by a stray cat and the steps I took in reporting it, which added another layer of stress and frustration. She did not minimise my concerns, nor did she amplify them — instead, she helped me separate what was within my control from what was not. That clarity was extremely helpful. “I have tried other therapists before. All of whom who were happy to let me rant but didn't actually help me to improve or work through anything. From the beginning Linda was firm and fair, kind and patient. She laid out how sessions ahead of time so I knew what to expect, and helped me to hold myself accountable. Alex has provided me with the vocabulary and skillset to label emotions and communicate more openly with others by dropping my fake, guarded persona. “I have been seeing Rebecca since November 2023, almost 8 months now. I felt so nervous on my first session, I knew for a few months before reaching out to Rebecca that I needed to start therapy again. I had made peace with that part. But addressing my problems always followed me with fear. Rebecca made me feel so welcomed from my first email I had with her and on my first one to one in person meeting with her. It went a lot better then I had built up in my mind. She made me feel really safe and comfortable and I felt she really listened to every word I had to say and gave me in return sympathy and an understanding to what I was going through. I’ve struggled to stay with previous therapist in the past because I never felt heard or listened to, I just very quickly labelled as something and dismissed but I don’t with Rebecca, she really engages in our conversations, I know she listens because she repeats information I’ve said from different appointments with her, that I forget at times I’ve said! And I really like that she challenges my thoughts by asking questions and showing a curiosity in them. It helps me think outside of the box I’ve created for myself and opens my mind up in a positive way, which feels really refreshing. My time spent with her has been incredibly rewarding, and her advice and help has been really great and I use it in my everyday life.
