“I have been working with Christie on and off for more than two years. I have found her clear approach to be very helpful in understanding my issues and how to best manage them. She sometimes recommends books and articles which give me more technical understanding and additional information. I find this particularly useful to help me centre myself in other people's experiences, and this also helps me reflect and journal in between sessions. Having the focus to reflect between sessions means I am using counselling actively to work on myself, rather than passively, and it's Christie's approach and guidance which supports me to do this. I like the consistency of her approach over time, and I feel like I really benefit from my sessions. Therapy gives me the chance to discuss things which I can't or don't want to discuss with my friends or people around me, and it supports me to regulate my emotions and reactions. Therapy (and Christie) really helps me to understand myself better and my 'parts' and this is so helpful in managing my life. ”

Alex has provided me with the vocabulary and skillset to label emotions and communicate more openly with others by dropping my fake, guarded persona. “I have been seeing Rebecca since November 2023, almost 8 months now. I felt so nervous on my first session, I knew for a few months before reaching out to Rebecca that I needed to start therapy again. I had made peace with that part. But addressing my problems always followed me with fear. Rebecca made me feel so welcomed from my first email I had with her and on my first one to one in person meeting with her. It went a lot better then I had built up in my mind. She made me feel really safe and comfortable and I felt she really listened to every word I had to say and gave me in return sympathy and an understanding to what I was going through. I’ve struggled to stay with previous therapist in the past because I never felt heard or listened to, I just very quickly labelled as something and dismissed but I don’t with Rebecca, she really engages in our conversations, I know she listens because she repeats information I’ve said from different appointments with her, that I forget at times I’ve said! And I really like that she challenges my thoughts by asking questions and showing a curiosity in them. It helps me think outside of the box I’ve created for myself and opens my mind up in a positive way, which feels really refreshing. My time spent with her has been incredibly rewarding, and her advice and help has been really great and I use it in my everyday life.
