“I have been working with Christie on and off for more than two years. I have found her clear approach to be very helpful in understanding my issues and how to best manage them. She sometimes recommends books and articles which give me more technical understanding and additional information. I find this particularly useful to help me centre myself in other people's experiences, and this also helps me reflect and journal in between sessions. Having the focus to reflect between sessions means I am using counselling actively to work on myself, rather than passively, and it's Christie's approach and guidance which supports me to do this. I like the consistency of her approach over time, and I feel like I really benefit from my sessions. Therapy gives me the chance to discuss things which I can't or don't want to discuss with my friends or people around me, and it supports me to regulate my emotions and reactions. Therapy (and Christie) really helps me to understand myself better and my 'parts' and this is so helpful in managing my life. ”

Like I imagine most people feel before starting counselling, it can seem like a daunting prospect, but Josephine gave me the time, space and courage to discover things about myself and my past which I truly needed to address and understand in order for me to move forward in my life. “Christie has helped me come out of a period of anxiety and depressive feelings. I was stuck in a dark hole because I had unhelpful beliefs about my relationship and was struggling with isolation during covid working from home, which meant I couldn't have a healthy normal relationship and attach to my partner normally. Christie has helped me use CBT and ABC theory to be able to tolerate uncertainty and enjoy life more on my own and with my partner. CBT has completely changed my life, and it is something you can use whenever you need it, it is a set of tools that you can take with you. My relationship is so much better now, and I am genuinely happy and in a healthy relationship, even though I still have difficulties in life (like we all do), I am able to tolerate them and it doesn't trigger me to enter a depressive state. Thank you so much Christie! I would thoroughly recommend Christie to anyone facing anxiety and is stuck with a specific issue they are facing with relationships or loneliness, and are finding it hard to come out of it on their own. Another thing I liked about Christie's therapy was that she didn't push her interpretations on to you and draw conclusions, she helped you realise these things about your feelings and belief, on your own (with her help), which meant the CBT really worked well. Thoroughly recommend.”

“Josephine is fantastic. She is very calming and very practical, but also very kind. She really engages with what you say and deals with it in a sensitive manner. She is a good and active listener and really tries to tailor the sessions according to your own preferences, while still taking the lead if you need her to or if you are feeling lost. I like the focus on CBT and on trying to retrain your brain through practice and hard work, but she doesn't lose sight of the emotional aspect involved in that and the challenges of bringing rational thinking into emotional feeling. ”
