Not only does he offer insightful suggestions, but he also encourages me to explore different perspectives, helping me develop solutions that feel right for me. Since session 1 Emily has listened carefully and with care. She has created a space where I can feel unconditionally accepted, and where we both identify and strategise around the needs I have. As...Since session 1 Emily has listened carefully and with care. She has created a space where I can feel unconditionally accepted, and where we both identify and strategise around the needs I have. As the sessions have continued, I have brought more and more to the table because we have dealt with things week by week. I feel like we are getting down into the real things I need to and want to address. Also as the sessions have gone on, I see Emily's skill, which is considerable. She'll stop me when she has enough to work with but will never cut me off before my vocal flow is done, if it is useful - I really appreciate this in a therapist - I feel like I'm in safe hands when they can assess when to stop the client and not try and please them. It is this combination of skill, courage and compassion that has me coming back to Emily - it is seriously helping me to move through this emotional era. Seriously helping me navigate the many changes that have occurred physically and in my world these past few years. There have been a few gem phrases that Emily has offered me that I have on post-it notes on my computer. This is the highest accolade available - the post-it. And she's funny too - we laugh. Not too much and when appropriate and she would never let me get away with using humour to bypass something, although she would call me in gently and kindly to that if I were, I'm sure. I really like Emily - I feel cared for and connected but in the most professional and healthy way. She always has my best outcomes in mind. And I must mention again - she is skilled.
