There were things I’d been looking to work on from the beginning, but as other things have happened in my life more recently, we’ve been able to work through them in a way that also supports the previous work and keeps everything moving in the right direction. “As someone that has always valued my own faculties, counselling was not something that I chose to do lightly. I was a sceptic, arguably cynical, but I now understand that this was because counseling requires vulnerability, a reliquishing of control, and courage that I did not (and may still not) have. I've spent most of my life presenting strength and "okay-ness" when the truth is I was hiding, silent, and afraid of life, of myself, and of the truth. In our very first sessions, Ewen had said (to some extent) that "this is a journey, and we'll go through it together". Ewen has given me what no one else in my life ever has - the space, and grace to have a voice, free from judgement, criticism or retribution. He has allowed me to learn to simply exist, to be free in myself, and who I decide to be, and I think it takes great skill, compassion, and care to be able to do that. His sessions have allowed me to discover, accept, and choose myself, whilst feeling safe in doing that. I'm grateful beyond belief, and I know there are no words to fully express what an incredible counsellor he is, and so I hope the five stars are somewhat a reflection of that. It is beyond deserved, and Harley Therapy are extremely fortunate to have him. ”
“I have only had my second session so it is early days. Ryan comes across as very professional with good boundaries. The latter is very important to me, which sometimes therapists lack in my experience. I need a therapist who will push me to work on myself rather than be a 'listening ear' only. I think Ryan will push for high effort based on the sessions so far. If you're serious about getting better and putting the work in I think he is potentially a good choice. ”

“I have done only two sessions with Steph and maybe for the first time I have got the feeling I can going somewhere. I have been struggling with depression/anxiety/panic attack for a very long time and I have also tried different therapies which I haven't found very helpful. Steph understood my situation and the reason for my lack of trust and overcome those by explaining her plan to improve my mental health. I felt she was really listening to me and studying my situation She put in place a strategy to help me with my short-medium term anxiety too. So I am feeling that while I am going to follow her on a long recovery path, I will also have some inputs about how to improve my life week by week. I appreciate that she always explains the reasons for some questions so I can too understand what we are doing. She is very nice and empathetic, and she is really creating a quiet and warm space for me to share my thoughts. ”
