As someone that has always valued my own faculties, counselling was not something that I chose to do lightly. I was a sceptic, arguably cynical, but I now understand that this was because counseling requires vulnerability, a reliquishing of control, and courage that I did not (and may still not) have. I've spent most of my life presenting strength and "okay-ness" when the truth is I was hiding, silent, and afraid of life, of myself, and of the truth. In our very first sessions, Ewen had said (to some extent) that "this is a journey, and we'll go through it together". Ewen has given me what no one else in my life ever has - the space, and grace to have a voice, free from judgement, criticism or retribution. He has allowed me to learn to simply exist, to be free in myself, and who I decide to be, and I think it takes great skill, compassion, and care to be able to do that. His sessions have allowed me to discover, accept, and choose myself, whilst feeling safe in doing that. I'm grateful beyond belief, and I know there are no words to fully express what an incredible counsellor he is, and so I hope the five stars are somewhat a reflection of that. It is beyond deserved, and Harley Therapy are extremely fortunate to have him.
