“When I say Tej saved my life, I am not exaggerating. I went to Tej during a mental breakdown, intense bursts of anger, paranoia and trigger responses. I felt crazy, out of control, ashamed… I had been sober for a year and was seriously struggling to cope with life. Very early on Tej helped me understand I had CPTSD, A diagnosis that has helped remove shame for so many things in my life. A reason for the turbulence, the angry outbursts, behaviour that had destroyed so many relationships. She gave me incredibly helpful breathing exercises which I used frequently to calm myself down - honestly it felt like the first time I took a breath in 20 years. I saw Tej over the course of a year, initially to work through and understand my CPTSD symptoms, but as I began to trust myself and our relationship more so many aspects of my life came up. My relationship with my father, who I was about to cut out of my life when I met Tej, is ok now. We are not extremely close, and I understand why, but I am very grateful to have him in my life. I also grieved the death of my mother with Tej, 15 years after her passing. I began to learn how to cry, to feel the big emotions which I had been avoiding my whole life. The grief of my mothers death and the pain of my fathers own trauma had me utterly lost and hopeless. With crippled self esteem and a total fear of relationships. I am now in a long term happy relationship, the first of my life. And I am literally living my creative dreams at work. It is not that life is easy at all - I still have big feelings and triggers, but I now believe I can get through them. I am stronger, not ashamed, and brave in how I live. Tej’s voice is in my head, encouraging me, calming me, pushing me. I feel so extremely grateful to have met her and recommend her to anyone who is struggling with trauma or other mental health issues. I must also say I was so wary of Tej in my first session (as I was with anybody new!), but she made me feel so safe and the truth that grew between us has been so incredibly healing. ”
