“I have been working with Christie on and off for more than two years. I have found her clear approach to be very helpful in understanding my issues and how to best manage them. She sometimes recommends books and articles which give me more technical understanding and additional information. I find this particularly useful to help me centre myself in other people's experiences, and this also helps me reflect and journal in between sessions. Having the focus to reflect between sessions means I am using counselling actively to work on myself, rather than passively, and it's Christie's approach and guidance which supports me to do this. I like the consistency of her approach over time, and I feel like I really benefit from my sessions. Therapy gives me the chance to discuss things which I can't or don't want to discuss with my friends or people around me, and it supports me to regulate my emotions and reactions. Therapy (and Christie) really helps me to understand myself better and my 'parts' and this is so helpful in managing my life. ”

“I’ve been working with Joe for a few months now, and my life has seen a remarkable turnaround. Before meeting Joe, I struggled with intrusive thoughts and negative reactions stemming from my childhood, which also affected my relationship and resulted in me constantly being on edge. Coming to him, I was hoping to manage my overall behavior better. What I didn’t anticipate, nor think possible, was how profoundly different I would feel. I no longer have such intrusive thoughts, and it’s less about managing my behavior now, as I don’t have such an ‘urge’ to begin with to behave negatively. Joe’s approach to therapy is refreshingly forward-looking. While he acknowledges the past, it is not dwelled upon. It was addressed to understand and mitigate its impact on my current life, focusing on strategies to move forward. For instance, his insights led me to realize that my habit of cleaning the kitchen late at night was setting off a chain reaction of negative emotions on the weekend. Further I learned how to frame intrusive thoughts for example, which reduced their occurrence greatly. With Joe’s help, I’ve been able to address many more triggers, leading to a more peaceful and less contentious life at home. Some reviews suggest Joe is overly quiet, but my experience contradicts this. He encouraged me to speak freely, yet he provided guidance when needed, ensuring I was comfortable throughout our sessions. He exudes a sense of calm, friendliness, and non-judgment that has made my therapy sessions with him truly beneficial. In conclusion, Joe’s therapy has been transformative for me. His focus on future-oriented solutions and practical steps has not only helped me deal with my past but has greatly improved my daily life. I only wish I had started therapy sooner and I cannot recommend Joe highly enough.”
