This client comments about all I talked about was my cat, which is untrue. I initially asked her if she had any allergies or problems with my cat as they walked into the room together. She said that she loved cats.
I used the cat in the session as an example of how the nervous system works in relation to anxiety and stress. To help her understand how the neuro pathways in mammals react to potential risk of trauma and difficult life events.
I'm sorry that our discussion has been interpreted in this way and wish her all the best.
