10 Years Experience

A warm hello! Thank you for looking at my page. I know how difficult it can be to choose the right practitioner, so please take your time to read through my profile and feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

From a young age I knew I wanted to get into a career path that would make a difference in people's lives. This interest led me to study psychology. I completed my undergraduate degree in 2009 and then went on to achieve my doctorate in counselling psychology- the highest level of training one can attain. I am registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (number PYL36296).

I have 10 years experience working with people with a variety of difficulties. I worked in the NHS for 4 years offering psychological therapy to children, young people and adults and I have also worked in various third sector organisations. I have also undertaken 40 hours of personal therapy so I understand how daunting it can be at first. I will try my very best to make you feel comfortable and at ease during our appointments.

I currently offer pluralistic therapy to adults, young people and couples. This means that I draw from a range of therapeutic models to suit your needs. I am trained in Humanistic Therapy, Cognitive-behavioural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy.

What happens If I book an appointment with you?

Before our initial appointment, I will e-mail you a document titled 'Client Information and Informed Consent'. This provides information about how I work, my terms and conditions, how I keep you safe and what you can expect from therapy. Please take your time to read through this. We will discuss this document during our first session to allow you to ask questions. I will ask you to sign it and return it to me via e-mail.

Harley therapy will also give you the option to complete an initial assessment online. I will recieve this before we meet. It is useful for me as it provides information on what you would like help with.

The Initial Appointment

In our first appointment I will gather basic information about you and you will get the opportunity to talk about what brought you to therapy. We will also discuss your unique therapy goals and preferences.

Subsequent Sessions

I will take two to three sessions to complete an assessment with you, depending on your individual needs. We will talk about your history, difficulties, relationships, strengths and coping styles. We will then devise an intervention plan together. I usually recommend weekly sessions.

Please Note: I plan to take 8 weeks off between December 2018 and February 2019. If we are working together I can offer you e-mail support during these times and we can resume our therapeutic work in March 2019.
