7 Years Experience

Firstly a warm Hello, my name is Justin. It is important you find the right counsellor and psychotherapist for you. So do take the time to read through my profile and be assured I will endeavour to work with you in the best way possible.

I practice from a Humanistic Integrative approach. Utilising a variety of approaches within a humanistic framework such as: Gestalt, Transactional analysis, Narrative, Mindfulness and Experiential, Person-centred ways of working. As well as drawing upon a panoply of other approaches in counselling and psychotherapy.

I hold a masters level qualification in counselling and psychotherapy practice. As well as an undergraduate qualification in counselling. Prior to becoming a psychotherapist. I spent 17 years working a variety of roles within mental health support services, coordinating and facilitating groups and working with crisis and multiple and diverse issues.

I listen to you with empathy, seeking to understand, accept and respect where you have been, where you may go and where you are now.

All aspects of the human experience have the potential to be a resource.

I offer a reflective relationship that is considerate and sensitive of your needs as they present themselves.

I see the work as a collaborative process between you and I as your therapist. Therapy is a two way process of relationship.

I listen to you and the change you want to create. In that vein we may well think about various solutions, strategies or approaches and different perspectives in working with a wide variety of presenting issues.

Always working with your needs and experiences, going at a pace that you feel is necessary.

I offer an environment of:

- Hope
- Empathy
- Empowerment
- Reflection

As well as a place to be appropriately challenged.

The therapeutic relationship is an important agent of healing and change and I invite you to work in a present tense, a place in which you can explore the past, realise its impact on now and also look at future expectations and possibilities.

Counselling and Psychotherapy offer a whole range of ways in which to explore and express your inner subjective world. I value working creatively and I may at times invite you to work with various creative media, such as keeping a journal, creating pictures, creative writing, working with metaphor and simile or experiment with new ways of being in the therapeutic session.

An explorative, supportive, reflective opportunity to increase your sense of self, gain better understanding, self awareness and emotional competence. So that you may go forward and live your life more fully.

I work both short term and long term. We can review our work regularly as we go along. I am insured, experienced and a registered counsellor and psychotherapist with the British Association for Counsdelling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work within the BACP's ethical framework for counselling and psychotherapy.

I am experienced in working with a wide variety of issues. Which include: Trauma, Abuse, Childhood Abuse, Depression, Anxiety, Relationships, Anger and Aggression, Bereavement, Suicide, Addictions, Health Issues, Sexual Issues, Sexualities, Self Esteem, Self Confidence, Bullying, Self Harm, Parenting and etc.

"Justin has been caring, punctual and our sessions are starting to have an impact now we're past the initial 'download' phase and are getting into 'the work's."

"I can't praise Justin highly enough for how we had helped me. When I met Justin I was was at my lowest point and couldn't see a way forward with difficult family pressures and my daily life. He quickly got me into practical exercises which helped enlighten me to a new way of thinking. I feel like a new person now and I've had such fun on the way as he solved serious issues for me whilst also smiling through it. I've experienced therapy before and I've never experienced such effectiveness. He is truly one of a kind and I can't recommend him highly enough. "

"Justin is a talented therapist and a hugely empathetic individual. I have been seeing him on a weekly basis for nearly a year now to deal with childhood trauma, anxiety and depression. He has helped me so much over the past year that for the first time in 20 years I feel I have a chance of having a handle on my mental health, something I did not think was possible before. Having gone to several therapists in person over the years nothing really clicked until now, the digital nature may not be for everyone, but for me it works perfectly. His ability to strike up a conversation that is both informal but also insightful is a huge strength as it helps me reflect on things, and his gentle guided exploration into sensitive issues has been of invaluable help."

"He was warm and listened to me carefully. Listening is difficult to do!"

"It was a pleasure to speak to Justin. He made me feel incredibly at ease and thought about things carefully when I spoke, which made me feel like he truly cared. I really liked his informal approach and I felt like I was talking to a knowledgeable friend rather than a therapist. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking for an introduction to therapy. "

"Justin really helped me at a time when I was struggling and was able to really engage with how I felt and help me see a path out of it. We still talk once a week and I feel able to sustain a lot of the progress I’ve made because of the interventions he has introduced me to. He has supported me to keep them up and make real, sustainable changes in my life and relationships."

"It is always daunting finding a therapist, I decided to work alongside Justin and it is one of the best decisions I have made. His empathy and understanding puts you totally at ease. He helps you to see the light even when things can seem dark. He empowers you to reconnect with yourself. I couldn’t imagine speaking to any other therapist "

"Absolutely great. Justin made me feel immediately at ease and was so understanding. I have some homework before my next session which is great and made me feel we were getting stuck into the issues rather. Really pleased. "

"Justin was very good yesterday. He listened intently and read (and remembered) all the issues that I was facing in a 9 page document I sent the night before the session. I came from it with a definite understanding of what needs to be done in my life. I recommend him wholeheartedly. "

"Great session"

"My first ever therapy session, it felt very easy to share with Justin and I look forward to our future bookings with great optimism"

"Justin has been super warm and professional. He is helping me navigate some changes in my family, empowering me to hold my boundaries and helping me to understand my feelings better, thus being able to communicate better when the situation calls for it. Would really recommend him to those who are looking for some outside support. "

"Already started to help me think a little about my challenges after the first session. Feeling slightly better already."

"Justin was great! We started on time and I felt our session was quite helpful, even though it was an intro. I've had quite a bit of therapy through the years and feel qualified to say he's a good one!"

"It was completely easy to talk to Justin and I was made to feel comfortable and safe. I appreciated the way he let me speak and asked me questions for clarification. The time went quickly and I was incredibly happy with the experience."

"Justin came across as an attentive therapist and was trying to find a right approach to match my needs. I'm going to consider another session next week, depending on how I feel."
