4 Years Experience

Hello, my name is Ch'maine Robinson, a qualified Counsellor/psychotherapist and registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP). I am also an accredited member of The National Counselling and Hypnotherapy Societies (NCS, NHS). I trained in counselling and psychotherapy after having had my own experiences with counselling, realising how great the benefits can be. Due to this understanding, I always aim to develop a relationship of mutual trust, empathy and welcome challenges that are explored at a clients own pace. I do understand, first hand, how daunting it is when you first experience therapy of any kind. All questions will be invited and explored to ensure you feel the most comfortable you can be.

Counselling/ Psychotherapy:

Effective counselling reduces confusion, allowing you to make effective decisions leading to positive changes in your attitude and/or behaviour. Counselling is not advice-giving and is not acting on someone else’s behalf (these are more the roles of a life coach). The ultimate aim of counselling is to enable you to make your own choices, reach your own decisions & go forward with a greater sense of clarity & well-being

Hypnotherapy:

Hypnotherapy is a type of complementary medicine in which hypnosis is used to create a state of focused attention and increased suggestibility during which positive suggestions and guided imagery are used to help individuals deal with a variety of concerns and issues. These can include weight management, smoking, anxiety, phobias & more

Mindfulness:

Mindfulness is the psychological process of bringing one’s attention to experiences occurring in the present moment, which one can develop through the practice of meditation and through other training

Vision Board classes:

Vision boards are wonderful tools used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on specific life goals. Literally, a vision board is any sort of board on which you display images that represent whatever you want to be, do or have in your life. Guidance is given in how to focus your attention & connect images in a meaningful way according to your goals.

Food Therapy classes:

Food as Therapy: Direct connections can be made between how we feel and what we eat, between mood and food. Health guidelines would have us believe that eating well is primarily about nutrition. Not true. Eating well is primarily about preparing the right food for how you happen to be feeling. This is a tool that inspires you to make and then act on this link.

Creative Writing Classes:

Much of the research on writing and happiness deals with “expressive writing,” or jotting down what you think and how you feel. Even blogging “undoubtedly affords similar benefits” to private expressive writing in terms of therapeutic value. Expressive writing has also been linked to improved mood, well-being, and reduced stress levels for those who do it regularly

Diploma in Counselling Skills.

"Chmaine was great. She let me talk and listened. Which is just exactly what I needed. She has a great heart and I loved the conversation with her. Have another appointment next week."

"Ch’maine instantly made me feel heard, that my feelings were validated, that what I said mattered. I have been able to open up quite quickly with Ch’maine which is a credit to her as it could be an uncomfortable situation. Thank you for supporting me on my journey of healing I am very grateful to have you"

"I have had a couple of therapists before but was nervous about trying online therapy as I had always met with therapists face to face and have struggled with several mental health issues. However, Chmaine was so warm and friendly from our very first session that I needn't have worried! Not only is Chmaine easy to talk to but she is the first therapist who I feel really hears me, not just listens, but hears and seems to understand even when my own thoughts are muddled. Chmaine has helped me explore several techniques so far, introducing new ones, pulling ones that aren't working for me and each time changing approach depending on my week and feelings that day. Although it's often difficult for me, I'm looking forward to continuing to work with Chmaine!"
