Taking the step to access therapy is difficult, particularly for those who have tried and failed before. I will put just as much effort into therapy as you do, this is a 2-way relationship. Your goal is my goal. I offer a mix of compassion and straight talking. My aim is for you to recover, and I will work with you creatively to achieve this. I am jargon free, and often use analogies to help you to make sense of things. Therapy is tough, but I will make sure it is as enjoyable and personal to you as possible.

To introduce myself, I’m Hannah and I’m a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. I have a lot of experience working with clients who have previously had poor therapy outcomes or have suffered for many years and never had any help. Therefore, I specialise in longstanding or complex symptoms. I provide treatment for all common emotional health problems that are anxiety and low mood based (depression, bipolar, panic, agoraphobia, health anxiety, social anxiety, specific phobias, obsessive compulsive disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder). I provide therapy across the range of severity from low level stress/low mood or sleep problems, right through to longstanding symptoms.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) looks at providing psychological education and understanding, as well as teaching practical approaches/techniques to better manage your symptoms. ‘If we keep doing things the same way, we keep getting the same outcome’ – this is where CBT comes in, it looks at lifelong changes that help you to overcome your symptoms and stay in control of them long-term.

I have been working in mental health delivering therapy for nearly 10 years now. I have completed two post graduate university qualifications and am accredited with the BABCP (the regulatory body for my field). I treat clients both through the NHS and privately. I am eager to make therapy accessible to all clients, and as such have for a long time delivered therapy not just face to face, but also via telephone, video-call and live type-chat therapy.

When I had my training, I was told my job is to make myself redundant – to teach a client what they need to continue without me – and that has continued to be my approach. I look forward to working together with you to help you achieve your goals.
