5 Years Experience

I offer truthful conversations that transform fear and negativity to love and acceptance. At the heart of this is a space and practice of non-judgement and forgiveness. If we can stop telling the stories we have created around the things in our lives: if we can change the meaning of these things, we can choose how we feel about them. We can choose peacefulness.

After many years training in yoga, meditation, mindfulness, spirituality, A Course in Miracles, Integrative Counselling and Gestalt Therapy, along with a Bachelors degree in Human Resource Management and corporate roles in people management and operations management in London, I chose to walk a different path, and help people find more love, freedom and authenticity.

I am less interested in diagnoses and what you feel has gone wrong in your life, and more interested in who you are, as a whole and complete person, and how I can support you in recognising your own wholeness and beauty. That is not to say we won't look at trauma, but we will redefine and heal it for you.

This is not a conventional profile, and I am not a conventional therapist. I am however, an effective, loving, intuitive and empathic one. If you're ready to suspend your judgement and try a different type of conversation, one where you feel truly seen, whilst at the same time safe to look at the things that scare you, about yourself and the world, then I would love to talk with you.

I'm an integrative therapist, which means I've trained in a number of different modalities including CBT, Person-Centered, Humanistic, TA (transactional analysis) and mindfulness and choose a combination of approaches based on my client's needs at the time. Having trained as a yoga teacher and mindfulness teacher as well as a therapeutic life coach I also incorporate a more active approach with accountability and solution-focused methods built in, as well as some meditation if appropriate. I have also recently completed professional training in Gestalt Therapy.

The sessions are your time. So we can talk, or not talk, and I certainly would never try to force you into talking about something you didn't want to. It's a very client-led process whereby you get to explore what is troubling you, and I'll feedback what I heard from you and ask questions which help you to think about what you're experiencing from different perspectives to gain greater clarity and understanding of your situation and feelings.

Whilst it is never a walk in the park to work through your emotions, most of my clients have expressed how much better they feel for bringing their deeper feelings to the surface and having a safe and neutral place to explore them rather than trying to hide them all the time.

I completed my Advanced Integrative Professional Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling in 2014, following a year-long placement at the City and East London Bereavement Service, previously funded by the NHS and based out of the Royal London Hospital. Prior to this, I had completed a Certificate in Counselling, a Certificate in Hypnotherapy, the Level 3 CYQ Yoga Teacher qualification and a BA (Hons) in Human Resource Management and had a successful career in HR and Operations Management before retraining. I also completed my Mindfulness Teacher training in 2016, having studied this as part of my yoga teacher and counselling training and completed a Certificate in Therapeutic Life Coaching with the Integrated Coaching Academy in 2017.

My experience has taught me that it is often not about a specific tool or technique brought into the therapeutic relationship, but rather the genuine human connection between counsellor and client which can be of greatest benefit. To know that there is someone who isn't going to judge you, or anyone else, outside of your day to day life, who supports you and believes in you is something sadly not enough people have experienced. This external support goes a huge way towards assisting you to build your own strength and resilience and to help you heal whatever it is that has been stopping you reaching full happiness.

Please note that by choosing to book with me you are consenting to the terms of business and privacy policy which will be sent to you in a confirmation email.

"Made me feel very comfortable to share and already felt clearer after just one session."

"I've only had one session but I would highly recommend to anyone! "

"I had an excellent first session with Emma. She made me feel comfortable to share the things I'm currently struggling with that I'm looking to discuss and work through with therapy sessions. She seemed to just really grasp and understand what sort of approach I'll need and am looking for. Just following the first session, I felt positive and hopeful for the first time in a long time that I'll be able to move forward and work through everything. I've since booked another session and plan to continue to do so."

"Really helpful first session"
